NORMAL – There will be 42 high school basketball teams competing in the Midwest Crossroads Showcase Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Normal West High School.
The Showcase is an NCAA certified live event where coaches from Divisions I, II and III, as well as coaches from the NAIA and colleges, are able to assess high school players for a two week period from Friday to Friday. June 27. It is among 27 storefronts in the country.
Regional teams that have signed up include Normal West, Bloomington, Central Catholic, Normal Community, University High, El Paso-Gridley, Heyworth and Lincoln. Each team will play at least four games. Some of the other teams are Bradley-Bourbonnais, Chicago Kenwood Academy, Chicago Orr, East St. Louis, Rock Island and Peoria Schools.
Some of the expected college coaches are from Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, Missouri, Bradley, Denver, Eastern Illinois, and the State of South Dakota.
The opening hours of the window are from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday; 9 am-8pm Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Spectators are allowed to attend and watch, but must wear masks. The cost is $ 10 per day.
