UN choir competing at the Rovdo International Choral Competition | Faculty of Communication, Fine Arts and Media

The UN concert choir recently participated in the Rovdo International Choral Competition in Minsk, Belarus. The event, which was held virtually due to COVID, brought together 68 choirs from seven different countries. The event had 1,860 singers in seventy-seven performances in eight different categories.

For their efforts, the UNO Concert Choir, led by Derrick Fox, DMA, secured a third place in the performance category, a Laureate Diploma I for top scores and a Special Diploma for best artistic performance according to the country’s COVID measurements.

After the competition, Fox said, The assertion of students’ musicality is great, but the confirmation of their ability to thrive in these difficult times means even more. “
